Why 5-Star rated Green Building?

 

Sable Park went through many design measures, both internal and external to ensure its Green Building status.  Half of the basement car parking is naturally ventilated which reduces mechanical ventilation and electrical usage. External lighting has been designed to avoid light pollution to the sky and green spaces are provided to create better water management in the rainy season.

Sable Park’s buildings also have energy sub-metering strategies applied to make tracking of building energy easier to track and daylight strategies are used with efficient lighting programmes for best indoor lighting performance. Water efficient fittings, treated recycled water systems for toilet flushing and smart water meters are installed to reduce your water bill. Internal blinds are installed throughout the buildings to ensure better comfort and reduce everyday glare.

                       

              

 

Unique design

 

The unique design of the development was inspired by shuffling forms that operate independently. Both buildings have four floors and two levels of underground parking. The four volumes are broken down into thirds with a double height layered mass and a single height crystalline cube. Each of these thirds was designed to maximize views and optimize orientation. The buildings were created with distinct floating boxes that deflects beyond one another.

The buildings are split into two wings with a central core and full height atrium bringing light into the centre of the expansive floorplates. A series of bridges spanning across the atrium connects the wings at the edge of the main core. Each building also encloses a landscaped courtyard providing an outdoor breakaway for staff. The buildings were designed to feature panoramic views of Table Mountain and Table Bay.
